Anthony Avellino, chief medical officer for MSU HealthTeam was recently named on Becker’s Healthcare 2020 "100 hospital and health system chief medical officers to know."

His profile cites: “Dr. Avellino stepped into his current position at Michigan State University in February 2018 and spent his first year rebuilding the system's entire quality infrastructure. He previously served as CEO of Peoria-based OSF HealthCare Illinois Neurological Institute, where he was responsible for more than 84 clinicians and 166 support staff across 23 care locations. In 2009, Dr. Avellino became the founding director of the UW Medicine Neurosciences Institute in Seattle before being named chief of neurological surgery at UW Medical Center, also in Seattle, in 2011.”
